Polish designers at Design Without Borders in Bratislava

After Vienna and Budapest, Design Without Borders will come to Bratislava, where a selection of works by nearly 150 artists from 14 countries, including Poland, will be on display starting July 13. The exhibition will be open until August 10.

This year Umelka Gallery will host a special anniversary exhibition of design and art, accompanied by a series of events. Works by nearly 150 artists from 14 countries will be arranged around several themes. It will focus on contemporary jewelry, sound objects, ecological and socially conscious works, as well as traditional design themes.

 

The exhibition includes a significant retrospective selection, highlighting the broader concept of design, the diversity of the creation of design objects, the work of globally influential designers, as well as the work of different generations, emerging artists and university students from different countries. There is a strong emphasis on ecological and socially conscious projects, works at the intersection of fine arts and design, sound objects and a representative selection of contemporary jewelry.

 

A specialty of Design Without Boarders is the gathering in one place of works by prominent international artists, including: Yrjö Kukkapuro (Finland), Alvaro Catalán de Ocón (Spain), Studio Dechem (Czech Republic), Ted Noten (Netherlands), Susanne Hammer (Austria).

 

Lodz Design Festival curated the event and selected projects from Poland to be displayed among works by artists from other countries. It will be possible to see works by:Aleksandra Gaca, Marek Blazucki, Magdalena Hubka and Piotr Grzybowski, Agata Kulik-Pomorska and Pawel Pomorski, Anna Siedlecka and Radek Achramowicz, Izabela Sroka and Julia Cybis, Oskar Zięta, Julia Bugajska, Anna Dudek, Magdalena Kędzior, Julia Korzec, Luiza Mężyńska, Slawa Tchorzewska.

 

The exhibition and accompanying events are part of the Bratislava Summer Cultural Festival.
