ŁDF2024 Wrapped

Seriously, you work on a few days of the festival all year long! That’s right, but it’s just a part of our daily life. Check out our activities and the results of various projects:

Highlights of this year:

• 18. Łódź Design Festival – “Comfort”
  The 70 events, including exhibitions, workshops, panels and film premieres, attracted thousands of participants. The theme “Comfort inspired conversations about design, public spaces and well-being.

• Polish Job 2.0 
  Our cross-sectional exhibition promoting Polish design was presented at Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, and a virtual version is available online.

• The ABCs of Polish Dizajn
  An exhibition in Darmstadt, presenting 100 years of Polish design, presented in cooperation with the Institut für Neue Technische Form and the Deutsches Polen-Institut. lodzdesign.com/en/the-abcs-of-polish-design-in-darmstadt
• Design Without Borders in Bratyslawa
  We co-curated a jubilee exhibition, showcasing works by prominent Polish female designers among works by people from 14 countries from around the world. lodzdesign.com/en/polish-designers-at-design-without-borders
• “Nitka” installation
  A modern art project, symbolically linking the spaces of Fusion and Art_Inkubator in Lodz, referring to the city’s textile heritage. lodzdesign.com/en/nitka
  
• Growroom at Warsaw Security Forum
  A modular structure promoting urban agriculture and ecological solutions was presented at an international forum in Warsaw.
• “Różne Rzeczy” Podcast – III season
  Episodes about comfort in various guises: from ASMR, fast fashion, to health architecture and Polish design.
  
• “Palimpsest” project
  A European project focused on exploring the relationship between the implementation of pro-environmental practices with consideration of local social practices and Lodz’s heritage. www.palimpsest-project.eu
  
• Participation in Global Creative Graduate Showcase 2024
  Supporting young talents in an international competition in which we served on the jury.
  
• Digital version of “Till the Trunks keep growing” at PLGBC Green Building Summit

• Award of the Mayor of Łódź
  Aleksandra Kietla of the ŁDF team was honored for her activities in the field of dissemination of culture.
• Development through KPO
  Innovative tools, virtual tours and new display systems introduced with the support of the KPO
• Participation in Taiwan Design Week
  Participation in a delegation representing Polish design on the international stage at an event in Taiwan. www.designersweek.tw
