make me! 2016

Distinction from the Nowy Styl Group company.

Bono is a design for a home compost bin of organic waste (including vegetable and fruit peelings, coffee and tea grounds, paper), in which the processing takes place with the help of an earthworm (Eisenia fetida species). The design is intended for kitchen spaces, especially in flats where the owners do not have their own garden, but would like to take care of the environment and recycle green waste. Bono is distinguished by its form, ergonomics and the materials used (spun and lacquered aluminium, expanded cork). An additional value is the organic fertiliser obtained through the work of earthworms, the use of which has a positive effect on the development of plants, which are increasingly popular in homes and on balconies. 30-50% of produced household rubbish is of plant origin. In highly developed countries, individual composting is used in the form of vermiculite; in Poland, it is almost unknown. It is high time to change that!
