What’s cooking in Łódź? Dictionary of Łódź-specific slang is the next installment of an artistic and educational project by which we wish to draw attention to the uniqueness of Lodz. This time we decided to look for traces of multicultural Lodz in… the kitchen. In Re:Medium Gallery – we want to show a dozen works depicting specific dishes and dishes for which the culinary art of our city is famous. Cabbage grandfather, challah with butter, herring under a quilt, zalewajka, iron noodles or leberka, all sound familiar, but we don’t always know where they came from on our tables. Our selection of works for the exhibition is subjective and includes 12 illustrations in 100×70 cm format, this time shown in the form of kitchen doodles. The authors tried to show their chosen slogans with a lot of humor, while leaving a huge room for the imagination of the audience. In addition to the dishes already mentioned, the terms illustrated include pear soup, wodzianka, drygle, garus, żulik.
