make me! 2017

Special make me! Award founded by INTERPRINT Polska in amount 5.000 PLN

The Baltica set is a utilitarian ceramic set that includes: mugs, a jug, a sugar bowl, and a tray. The vessels have been designed to meet aesthetic and utilitarian objectives – they are glazed inside for more hygienic contact with food, while the outside of the material is raw, unglazed. The pattern on the outside of the vessels is inspired by water. All work gas been done by hand. Clay is an incredibly malleable material that is derived from the natural raw materials provided by the Earth, so the Baltica series blends in well with its surroundings and is their harmonious part, not imposing on the viewer. Baltica contrasts with mass-produced crockery, each piece is unique, and no identical pattern is repeated. The patterns that form on the crockery are reminiscent of water, which, combined with the raw material, encourages reflection on its natural beauty.
