make me! 2014

“Dress me up” is a diploma project which presents research results in the fields of clothing and furniture design. It brings these two fields together by offering a solution for cool evenings during which we need to wrap ourselves up and to feel warm. The end result is an armchair and a jerkin, which fulfil their functions perfectly when used together. “Dress me up” is produced in two sizes. Form of the jerkin encourages various ways of usage according to individual needs. It can be worn on its own as a piece of outer clothing, or it can be used to wrap oneself up while seated at the airmchair. The armchair is produced of steel elements, whereas the jerkin is made of acrylic waterproof fabric.

The project postulates:

  • to blur the lines between designing fashion and furniture and to seek a common denominator for these two fields
  • multifunctional garden and home furniture which brings clothing and furniture design together
  • creating a form which addresses individual needs of its user.
