The “Me, Myself, AI” is both an experimental exploration of new design solutions as well as a critical project reflecting on the essence of creativity and the formation of global visual culture. Using a model of generative adversarial networks I taught the AI the concept of three objects – a chair, a table and a ceramic dish. I then observed its development and analyzed how tweaking the variables affects the direction in which its style develops. As a result, I created prototypes of three objects – a chair, a table and a ceramic vessel with an undefined function. The primary criteria for selecting these designs was to create artificial intelligence capable of designing coherent objects with a tactile, original style. In the face of another technological revolution that we are currently witnessing, this project seems particularly timely and asks important questions about the essence of creativity, not only in the design profession.
