make me! 2014

Edible tableware or “setSet”. Three designers have set themselves the goal of creating an edible tableware. The girls wanted to make their products sustainable, accessible, cheap and stimulate creativity, and at the same time make them smell good, easy to dye so as to bring joy both to small and large users. The ideal weight was achieved thanks to the use of bananas, rice flour (or cooked rice), potato flour, oil and hot water. The resulting mass allowed for the formation of plates, bowls, coasters and everything you need to serve a full meal. The tableware set has gained soft shapes, thick rims and homemade quality. The following dyes were used: curcuma giving an intense yellow colour, spirulina with a deep bottle-green colour, beetroot juice dying pink, pumpkin mousse in shades of orange and cacao, thanks to which the forms have the colour and smell of chocolate. After the consumption of the content you can eat the tableware or allow others to eat them – birds will be walking on air – and as a last resort, you can simply throw them away because they as biomass will quickly return to nature.
