HopOnTop is a project based on respect to tradition and manual work. It is a discussion on the place of crystal items in our homes and asking questions which help to learn where crystal glasses, vases and carafes belong in the modern world; on how to get used to crystal items and how to use them. Not only on festive or special occasions but every day.
Celebrating the meals and building the space on the table have gained new attributes. The longing for being with people and spending time at the table is of pivotal importance in the light of isolation and increasing constraints in human-to-human contacts. The ambience gains significance in such moments spent together, along with what surrounds us, what we can create on our own and design the space on the table individually.
The HopOnTop collection is an invitation to play. It breaks the barriers of the classical crystal label. It encourages the use of crystal items. Pour, put, store … The nobility of the material penetrates our everyday reality – blinking surfaces of the glassware, precious cut and sound.
HopOnTop is a collection of glassware whose function can be rediscovered. You can find the application of individual items for yourself.
The collection was created for Huta Julia in cooperation with Magdalena Gazur, a designer whose regular work is related to the Bolesławiec pottery and who experiences the value of tradition and craftwork. Crystal turned out to be another medium for discovering new table spaces for the designer. It applies to the crystal from Huta Julia, particularly, as it is deeply rooted in the tradition of the Karkonosze Mountains and regional culture.
It is unique both in its classic form and in the new contemporary design.
