Wicker streamer

Wicker, which builds the Wicker Streamer, is a natural wealth of the Vistula River basin and refers to the basketry tradition of this region. However, due to its unique scale, the installation goes beyond the framework of traditional craftsmanship and traditional utilitarian functions. By exposing the dynamics of the material itself, it encourages a multisensory perception of form. Touch and direct contact of the body with wicker complement the visual perception of the work and encourage staying in its environment. The Streamer fits into a new, decade-long tradition of conducting workshops and creating monumental ephemeral forms from wicker in public spaces. It was created at the Department of Interior Design of the Faculty of Design at the Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology. It was realized in cooperation with the Student Scientific Circle “And what will it be”. 

The exhibition was included in the Łódź Design Festival 2024 program as part of the open programme call.
