Type Y is a plywood armchair with four “Y” legs. All four legs are cut from the same mold, with both ends of each Y connected to the seat. The eight connection points ensure high stability, and, as they run diagonally from the centre of the seat, the weight on all four sides is evenly distributed. The main concept of Type Y is getting rid of extra structural parts. Each element not only has its function, such as a leg, back rest, arm rest or seat, but it also supports the whole structure. Thanks to that, Type Y is a completely stable chair characterised by material reduction and light weight.
