make me! 2019
Lino – a set of elegant bags made of floor covering. The main material used is PVC. The leather elements connecting the top of the bags are production waste from a shoemaking factory. The items are entirely handmade. Lino draws attention to the irreversible effects of exploitation of nature and to attempts to protect it from further exploitation of its resources. Through upcycling, it reduces the build-up of waste in the ecosystem. The result is transformation of badly perceived material into luxurious goods and rediscovery of craftsmanship while maintaining a modern, minimalist form.

(Ania Kanicka Studio)
Ania studied at the Royal Academy in Munich and the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. In her studio, Ania Kanicka Studio, she develops the LINO project and creates unique furniture, looking for a compromise between design and visual arts. In her projects she often refers to the utopian world of dreams, confronting them with reality. Her works are exhibited in Poland and abroad (e.g. Salone del Mobile, Dutch Design Week, DMY Berlin, Design.S, Eco Made and others). Publications of the works can be found in the German Vogue, Italian Elle Decoration and in New York’s Design Magazine.
