SĀR AJRAKH Collection includes bathrobes and pyjamas in two designs which express exquisite technique of printing and resist dying called AJRAKH and soft and delicate fabric called mulmul. Ajrakh is one of the oldest types of block-printing and resist dying on textiles still practised in some regions of India and Pakistan. The fabric is printed on both sides, with impressions exactly matching, making it quite often reversible fabric. This work requires around 4 weeks and very skilled person who can stamp the fabric with exquisite precision. Collection is made using only natural dyes of acacia seeds (black checks)or alizarine root (deep red color).
