Naive is a simple but playful wooden chair that is completely demountable. When folded, it takes up very little space. The design of the chair is kept to a minimum: a carved, solid seat, six legs of the same length and a fabric backrest. It can be assembled and dismantled in just a moment. The parts are interchangeable, so the user can easily change the colour of the chair. For this project, we set ourselves a challenge: to design a chair that even a four-year-old child can disassemble – consisting of six poles and a seat. We didn’t have to invent something new, but rather design the chair from scratch in a new manner. The chair uses six legs of the same length instead of four (two of which serve as a base for the backrest). The main challenge was to determine the exact sizes and angles in order to create not only a comfortable chair, but also a product worthy of attention and with a pleasant character.
