make me! 2017

Beetroot Lab is an experimental project aimed at creating a biodegradable material. The raw materials used in the research were sugar beet leaves, which are the largest waste in Polish agriculture, and pulp, a byproduct of the beet pulping process. This project aims to highlight how many everyday items are made from sustainable materials, when they could be made from local, non-toxic and biodegradable substances. It is also an attempt to show the potential of a raw material, theoretically devoid of functional properties.
