make me! 2014

“Plantation” was developed in recognizing the potential use of abandoned drinking glasses. The result is a porcelain object that rests in a common glass, which allows the observation of the growing process of plants, both its stem as well its root. These unique porcelain components are suitable for growing plants and when turned upside down can be used as a mini greenhouse, ideal during seed germination. This product allows the consumer the opportunity to reinvent the function of an ordinary glass. The product has been designed to be made in the ceramic studio or a small factory. The craft skils are gaining importance but there is still a need of innovative design. My project is in direct response to this problem.
