Utul is a social project aimed at women staying in maternity wards after giving birth. It enhances the positive feelings associated with being on the ward and supports the recovery process. The solution consists of two elements:
-
The Utulak – a textile object to increase privacy and comfort, during the patient’s stay in a double and multi-bedded room.
-
The Set for you – a package of products addressing the patient’s emotional and sensory needs.
The Utulak serves as a screen with which the patient can shield herself while feeding, sleeping or needing a moment of solitude. When the parts of the Utulak are disconnected, each part has an additional function. The Set for you includes products to support relaxation and a guide to postpartum emotions and patient rights. The Utul solution is placed in the room when preparing the bed for a new patient. The simple form of the design and the low cost of production makes it easy to place and adapt it to any hospital room.
