16. ŁÓDŹ DESIGN FESTIVAL
RE:GENERATION
12–22.05.2022

The first edition of the Festival after the pandemic and return to live meetings. The program of the 16th ŁDF included over 40 events – exhibitions, presentations, discussion panels and workshops.

The topics of the Festival presentations and the invited guests discussed issues related to both individual and systemic regeneration. The festival activities, based on reflection on the current state of the world, presented ways to rebuild inner peace, but also methods that would save the natural environment, cities and even social organizations.

_make me! 

 

In the 15th edition of make me! in 2022, 25 artists took part, whose jury composed of: Izabela Bołoz, Krzysztof Kornas, Joanna Krokosz, Tomek Rygalik, Agata Kiedrowicz, Maurizio Burrato and Michał Piernikowski, selected from 147 applications. The finalists competed for a total prize pool of PLN 60.000 from the Łódź Design Festival, sponsors Interprint and LPP, and partner Cosentino. The post-competition exhibition was presented at the Festival Center in Art_Inkubator in Fabryka Sztuki in Łódź.

 

The winners were:

  • I make me! award in amount of PLN 10.000: Urban Coolspot Project – Julia Sulikowska (Poland) 

  • II make me! award in amount of PLN 10.000: CRN_01 “Hummingbird” Swabs – Maciej Głowacki (Poland)

  • III make me! award in amount of PLN 10.000: Urban Clay – Michalina Zadykowicz (Poland), Sabrina Hass (Austria) 

  • make me! Interprint award in amount of PLN 10.000: Urban Coolspot Project – Julia Sulikowska (Poland) 

  • make me! Cosentino award in amount of PLN 10.000: Urban Coolspot Project – Julia Sulikowska (Poland) 

  • make me! LPP special award in amount of PLN 10.000: Eggshell Ceramics – Laura Van De Wijdeven (Netherlands)

_must have 

 

As many as 425 products were submitted for the 12th edition of the plebiscite in 2022, and the Board of Experts decided to award 76 of them with the must have quality mark. The awarded products included: furniture, clothes, handbags, jewellery, games, ceramics and books. The exhibition presenting the finalists of the plebiscite was held in the rotunda of the Manufaktura Shopping Center in Łódź.

The organization of the 16th Łodź Design Festival was possible thanks to the support of Łódzkie Centrum Wydarzeń and City of Łódź. ŁDF was co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Found. The patron of the Festival was Ceramika Paradyż. Among the sponsors were Interprint and LPP, and the partner were Mazda, Mazda, Cosentino, Manufaktura, Porta, Rado, Art_Inkubator in Fabryka Sztuki.
