“1st Wave” is an educational game for two people about the beginnings of women’s fight for equality. It is an attempt to respond to the problem of ignorance about the history of women’s movements. Themes and mechanics of the game are based on a dispute between feminists and their opponents. It presents both sides of the debate, their reasons and arguments. The main goal of the game is to keep the balance between entertainment and education. This task is met with both the unusual mechanics based on reading aloud the contents of cards, as well as attractive graphic design. The struggle for the women’s emancipation was and still is a very important social process, which, for many people, is still strange or steep in stereotypes. The aim of the project is to spread the knowledge about the history of women’s movements, to which we owe the fact that today women can work, learn and decide for themselves. The innovation lies in using the game as an educational tool. In this context, there is also novelty in the principles of “1st Wave”, which require a deeper understanding of its contents (reading cards aloud).
