5. ŁÓDŹ DESIGN FESTIVAL
CHANGE!
20-30.10.2011

The fifth edition of the festival took place for the first time in a new space – a 19th-century former factory building at 35 Targowa Street. The festival’s motto emphasized the changes taking place in the world around us (mainly due to human activities), and therefore also in thinking about design. In Poland, they testified to the maturation and development of the market in which the creator and his project operate. In a broader perspective, they emphasized evolving social needs and, with them, expectations towards design and designers.

The central point of the ŁDF was a thematic program consisting of curatorial exhibitions, which was complemented and developed by an open and rich repertoire of accompanying events, including: lectures, workshops, portfolio review, School Review, make me! competition, parties, Remade Market and PechaKucha Night.

The organizers prepared over 60 exhibitions, 420 artists from all over the world took part in the festival, and the Festival Center at Targowa took up almost 10.000 m sq.
