AB72 is a souvenir proposal for the Historical Museum in Sanok, specifically for the Zdzisław Beksiński’s Gallery. The project’s concept was to create a three-dimensional interpretation of Beksiński’s painting, allowing viewers the possibility to reinterpreting it. This approach presents the artist’s work in a completely new form, which every museum’s visitor can take home. AB72 is designed to appeal to a wide audience, targeting both the youngest visitors for educational purposes and adults who are art enthusiasts. The primary inspiration for the creation of the souvenir was Beksiński’s painting AB72, which is part of Gallery’s collections. An essential aspect is the ability to arrange interchangeable elements freely. To emphasize individuality, AB72 provides users with the opportunity to alter the artwork’s concept and adapt it to their own aesthetic preferences. Users can arrange the parts in any way they choose, not only by recreating the original piece.

The project is authored by third-year Design students – Anna Milczanowska (University of the National Education Comission in Cracow) and Aleksandra Mytnik (University of the National Education Comission in Cracow and Llotja Escola d’Art i Disseny in Barcelona). One of us is from Sanok, which is why we decided to choose the Zdzisław Beksiński’s Gallery. The AB72 project was created on the first year of our studies during Basics of Creative Design workshops under the supervision of dr Anna Węgrzyniak.
