TAKE OFF YOUR SLIPPERS, PUT ON YOUR FLIP-FLOPS!

We invite you to the one and only event of the 18th edition of Łódź Design Festival: Musical return to the comfort zone – chill & party by Kubota. Already on 25.05 (Saturday) at 21:00 at the NieWinni club cafe we will be partying with funk-jazz sets with live music! Three performers will take care of a pleasant and comfortable evening: DJ Kuki Monstah, DJ Late and Sushkin (trumpet and vocals). Admission is free, and that’s not the only good news – another surprise awaits the evening’s participants: an extra sense of relaxation will be provided by Kubota and their legendary flappers.

A few words about the DJs:

DJ Kuki Monstah. He has been playing and organizing parties in Lodz for more than a dozen years now, lavishing his time somewhere between funk, soul, jazz, afrobeat, hip hop and everything related to these genres. He was previously associated with Soul Confectionery, Strange Fruit and funklakskłębek, among others, as well as organizing Polish performances by Mop Mop, Jelly Jazz, Dja Dusty, Nik Weston or the band 6ix Toys. In Cracow, he regularly visited the Ministry, Pauza, or Lodz Kaliska (the real Lodz in Cracow!) with his vinyls.
As a Dj, he went all over Poland with his selection, and outside Poland he played in: Oulu, Dresden, Paris, Arles, Tibilisi, Hamburg, San Sebastian and Granada.

DJ Late. Always open to new and old sounds, he has lost much of his seniority in Krakow. He mainly promoted funk, soul and disco from the 70s and 80s, although he has long not shied away from good ‘new’ disco, house and other branches of contemporary dance music. Between 2009 and 2012, he hosted an eclectic chillout Sunday program “Mikstejp” on radiofonii.fm with Kid Buttons. At one time in Krakow, he was known for his residencies at the Ministry, Rozrywki 3 and Lodz Kaliska. Since returning to Lodz, he has been part of the Jazztek dj-duo.

Marcin SUSZKIN Suszek. Vocalist and trumpeter. Creator and leader of music groups: BLOO ZBIR (funk-acid-jazz), SEX MACHINE BAND (funk, soul, jazz), LUBLIN STREET BAND (jazz, funk, soul, orient). He played in Father Charles’ Funk MIX “SEPUKULTURA” released by Break Da Funk and on the vinyl “TAJNIAK” for the Internet radio station Solid Steel operating under the banner of the legendary Ninja Tune label. He has trumpeted on albums by the bands Czarno Czarni, BACK BEAT, Comeyah, Tallib and D’Roots Brothers, Mohipisian. He collaborates with legendary drum maker, drummer SLOMA and the D’Roots Brothers band. He has performed in such events as the Woodstock Festival. (Poland and Ukraine), Rawa Blues, Jazz OdNowa, Hanz Jazz Festival and many others. Together with the Lublin Street Band, he has performed at, among others: the presentation of Lublin in Wroclaw during the 2016 ECC celebrations, the Opening Ceremony of the UEFA EURO U21 Football Championship, or at the Polish Radio Three in the Agnieszka Osiecka studio.

It will be a wonderful feast for the senses and a rest for all those who will travel thousands of steps visiting exhibitions and participating in many other festival events.
