The exhibition “SENSUARIUM. At the interface of the senses” is created of works from design departments of the Abakanowicz University in Poznań. We decided to look critically at common opinion that the work of Polish designers stands out from others with empathy. So what does our empathy in design consist of? Probably in some special sensitivity of the creators to other people. Are we better than others at reducing great problems to the size of an individual? Maybe we are better trained than others in alterocentrism. It is innate in us, not learned. The exhibition does not attempt to provide a clear answer or solution to the above problem. The selected works are shown in the context of keywords that encourage personal reflection on the relations between sensual sensitivity and tenderness, sentimentality, sense of beauty, humor or moral sense.
