As part of the Artemis programme, humankind will return to the Moon – this time to stay. In the longer term, Mars is also a goal. But what might long-term human presence beyond Earth actually look like?
At SPLOT Institute, we believe that the future of space exploration should be shaped not only by science and technology, but also by culture, the humanities, social sciences, design, and art. As part of the SPLOT Artemis Generation programme, three interdisciplinary teams developed speculative visions of our life beyond Earth. They asked, among other things: Who should live in space? What rules should govern the use of resources? Is a shared interplanetary identity possible?
The exhibition invites reflection on the future of humanity in space, presenting prototypes, scenarios, and key moments from a creative process that brings together diverse disciplines.
