The problem of the use of first aid kits was taken up in order to improve the quality of assistance during life-threatening situations, with particular attention paid to the elderly and visually impaired. The work consists of a theoretical part describing the design problem and the conducted research, and a practical part presenting the phases of prototype development. The innovativeness of the project lies in the creation of a user-friendly and easy-to-use form that combines product design and visual communication. The aim of the designed first aid kit is to facilitate and accelerate the use process and minimize stress thanks to the harmonious and planned arrangement of its contents. Easy and legible designed messages are a response to existing market solutions. The project has been also enriched with QR codes that refer users to simple instructions and descriptions of the contents. The first aid kit is to facilitate the provision of assistance and not introduce additional chaos.

The work was supervised by Dr. Anna Wrzesień.
