“HUBA” is a project that seeks to draw attention to the needs of animals living in our environment, who – just like humans – are affected by the consequences of climate change. Increasingly frequent droughts have a severe impact on wildlife, especially in urbanized areas. This growing problem became the catalyst for the creation of a retention reservoir designed for birds and small forest mammals. The project’s main goal is to retain part of the rainwater for a longer period, reducing the risk of dehydration and offering birds an opportunity to cool down. The shape of the reservoir was inspired by the huba – a fungus that grows on tree trunks. Its distinctive form was transformed into a chalice-like structure that efficiently collects rainwater. The reservoir has been designed in various sizes to fit trunks of different diameters. The project combines functionality with nature-inspired aesthetics, offering meaningful support to forest ecosystems in the face of ongoing climate change.
