Is your breathing correct? We rarely stop to think about this vital yet unconscious process, and ignore the effect stress or bad habits can have on our breathing pattern and therefore on the entire body.

The aim of the project is to improve the health and quality of life of people who breathe incorrectly. “Inspiro” provides continuous and non-invasive diagnostics of the respiratory cycle in real time. The collected data can help doctors and physiotherapists improve diagnostics, service quality and select individual recommendations for each patient.

The project was born in cooperation with medical technology experts, pulmonologists, physiotherapists, and asthmatics. Prototype tests gave rise to a device that has a universal shape and is both comfortable and intuitive to use.

“Inspiro” keeps track of the breathing pattern and detects deviations. The application provides communication with the user, access to telemedicine, rehabilitation, and breathing exercises.

Project was created in cooperation with the MultiLab of Communication and Information Technologies.

PATRYCJA MAŁEK

A graduate of art history at the University of Silesia in Katowice. Currently, a master’s student of industrial design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. She defended her BA diploma in the Ergonomic Design Studio. In her projects, she tries to improve the quality of life in a real way while maintaining comfort and a positive user experience. She is not afraid to reach for innovative technologies. She’s experimenting with new materials. Each new project is a challenge and an opportunity for her to develop. Hence, her portfolio includes medical products, ecological materials and projects for demanding groups such as seniors and children. Doubts in the design process are dispelled during surveys and testing of prototypes with users.
