The Józef Chełmoński State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Nałęczów (PLSP Nałęczów) has a 120-year tradition of teaching wickerwork and toy-making. The school was established in 1903 to train instructors in basketry and toy-making, and it has continued this tradition ever since. The exhibition presents contemporary works of students of the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Nałęczów, created in the wickerwork and wooden toys specializations, which are unique in the country.
The works presented at the exhibition were created with a deep appreciation and reverence for the organic materials of wicker and wood. The students had the autonomy to express their creativity without commercial constraints or technological limitations, particularly in the case of wicker, where traditional techniques have endured for generations.
