“UNI” is a modular urban furniture system designed to encourage longer stays in the spaces between apartment buildings and to foster more frequent interactions among local residents. Currently, the catalogue includes ten modules, available in various finishes, which can be combined into numerous configurations depending on the area’s needs, while also organising the space through a consistent stylistic code. Accessibility is a key focus of the project. The main goal is to provide additional support to facilitate the use of the furniture by people with mobility challenges, including older adults. To ensure comfort, the backrest and seat elements are available in versions with thermal insulation. The prefabricated modules can be easily replaced to change the function of the furniture if needed or repair it in case of damage. This solution minimises production costs and reduces waste, limiting environmental impact and aligning with sustainable design principles.
